On behalf of the West Michigan Food Processing Association (WMFPA) Board of Directors and myself as Executive Director, we are pleased to announce WMFPA's next phase! We believe this phase will provide more resources for the region's nonprofits, and opportunities for funding organizations and individual donors to participate, ultimately supporting sustainability of West Michigan's Food and Agriculture Sector for years to come!

The WMFPA was created to connect West Michigan’s food processing industry from farm to table and link farmers, food processors, government, and economic development officials with resources, infrastructure, new markets, and educational institutions to train the current and future workforce. To continue this work, WMFPA created the West Michigan Food Processing Association Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation (FACF)! The WMFPA Fund will support food and agriculture initiatives that inspire innovative regional collaboration and solutions focused on food and food processing-related economic development and expansion, sustainable environmental practices, innovations in food processing, and efforts to enhance social impact to aid area farmers, students, nonprofits, and food-related businesses in Newaygo County, and the surrounding area. Our WMFPA Advisory Committee will meet with the FACF leadership to make decisions on annual grant awards.

WMFPA has made an initial contribution to establish the WMFPA Fund, in June 2026! We invite funding organizations and individual donors to also contribute to the fund to build the endowment! Through December 2026, WMFPA will match any donations made, up to $50,000! See more information and ways to contribute to the fund (attached)!
